Scrooge? nah, i really think THEY are taking the piss.

Enough, enough, enough!
I’ve had enough of it all!
This seasonal crap
This incessant insistent marketing crap,
Enough! Enough? Too much!
It started in October.
Why?

It's my own fault I got wound up by it, I thought I'd chill and watch half an hour of tv again, that'd make about an hour of my life wasted on the tv this month, and every advert was xmas crap. I know it's a bit more acceptable this close, but all month I've had xmas spam, and last month wasn't much better, and then it finally sank in that it's been like chinese water torture, slowly burrowing into my skull since the end of october.
I still vividly remember sitting of the sofa with 'Rain, and saying 'wtf, xmas ads, and we haven't even had halloween yet???'

I think another nail in the xmas coffin was the catalogs we had go through work, dated xmas 2007, nothing like planning ahead is there....

oh well.

Thanks for putting up with the rant both of you.

Shall return to normal very soon.

only 11 trailers to tip, then i'm free...well, until jan 2nd...
i'm so looking forward to it.

the only down side is, during that period, i have to go to town...and buy my partner and daughter something...
I would order on-line, but don't want to add to other people's, in my type of job, misery...

Without wishing to offend the other people commenting here, I would hazard a guess that the why at the end of this particular post was a rhetorical why.

rhetorical? me?

yeah sort of, and a kinda plaintive forlorn ineffectual and unheaded cry of pathetic misery at the unnecessary waste and greed over the supposed birth of some kid two thousand years ago...

1st of december should be the very earliest THEY should be permitted to start, though realistically perhaps the 10th, that's still two whole weeks to really get up peoples noses. Maybe the shops should still open xmas morning, just for those idiots that didn't notice that from october it's been the run up to xmas...you know, that last minute pointless trinket or bauble for ol' bob who you met once on the train from Bognor...
Must'nt forget ol' Bob at xmas must we...not that they know his full name or where he lives, but hey, at least there's a bit of tat waiting for him...

only 3 trailers to go, then i'm hiding away from it all for at least 3 days, I shall emerge refreshed and resurrected...oh hang on, that's easter...the run up for easter isn't till Jan 1st...

I hope Mammon is taking note of these avaricious *&^!*Rs

If he, by some quirk of a quirky universe, was not just "some kid", what a betrayal the Christmas mess is. On the other hand if he was just "some kid" could there be anything more cynical than the way he is used for bucks?

Sorry, Ish, the 'some kid' reference was a little out of order, didn't mean to cause offence, was just on a rant.

You're right of course, the whole thing as it is now, would be a huge betrayal of what He stood/stands for.
and if it's my way, (no God or son of) it's kinda making us all look a bit dumb making such a fuss over a random birth...may as well have a national holiday and spending spree over that chance encounter with ol' Bob....

The problem with ranting is the mud splatters, it knows not where it goes, but still has potential to stick where you don't want it to.
In fact, I suspect Murphy guides it, along with the falling toast...

Of course no offence. I enjoy the dialog... and your blog!
