Again Max
I went to a wall
To leave a word
Maybe two
Three
Or more.
Joyful steps
Skittering me along
Pavements
Bounding bounces
Skipping
Across roads
My heart broke
As
My eyes stung
From the settling dust
Of demolished wall
And now I scrabble
On brick chipped knees
Torn fingers dripping
Trying
To
Trying
Oh, why didn’t I go to college?
And learn
My lessons
In the
Bricklayers’ art…
To leave a word
Maybe two
Three
Or more.
Joyful steps
Skittering me along
Pavements
Bounding bounces
Skipping
Across roads
My heart broke
As
My eyes stung
From the settling dust
Of demolished wall
And now I scrabble
On brick chipped knees
Torn fingers dripping
Trying
To
Trying
Oh, why didn’t I go to college?
And learn
My lessons
In the
Bricklayers’ art…

Bricklaying is not the only form of permanence.

Is that right?
Its your Bday...happy Bday In:)
May you grow so old that the local vet needs to put you down:)
HUGZ.
Now that I read the poem, nice stuff In, as always:)
well, i guess walls are merely transient things, they seem to last forever, and some you would like to be around forever, but in this world of flux...
you know...
Thankyou for the birthday comments.
Though I'd like to point out to other readers that it's the 2nd...
I'm not quite the April fool, but merely do a good impression
