They came that night,
And dragged me away,
With angry cries and flailing arms
Battered and bruised they flung me here
This bare cell, no bed, not seat just concrete,
Here I shall stay until they decide my fate
For the heinous crime of being a ginger.
Far better for me to have been born a Jew
A black lesbian Jew in a wheelchair
But no, ginger am I
So tomorrow
I’ll die…
