to be...

To be immortal,
Watching evolutions achievement.
Civilizations rise and fall,
Rivers carving fresh courses,
Watching trees grow like flowers.

hmmm...it irks (?) me quite a lot that i will , at lest consciously, never see what will happen. i want there to be some sort of revolution in our time.....

well, the woodstock era was hardly revolution, and didn't really changed that much, the rest of the world carried on just the same, maybe a few more open minded people were created, but lets face it, it didn't really last, it was a cultural statement that was somewhat still-born. Although it did have it's fair share of blood and violence. so perhaps, we should class it as a partial revolution.
After all, most of them got sucked into the system eventually, tuned in, turned on, and sold out.

The river bank dweller rising in a balloon might eventurally see the mouth of the river, see how it all flows together. People who never ride the balloon can take it on faith that the river has a mouth. And that in a way is already a piece of immortality. They too are watchers.
