Simpleton

Old monkey man looked sad,
He had grey hair, and grey sagging skin,
Fur long gone, he hides within multicoloured clothing,
Diamond pattern of reds yellows black and blues,
Topped of with a tri pointed, belled hat,
And soft, pointed shoes, with bells on their tip.
Only a discordant jangle and chittering laugh are his voice,
Too long away from trees, his once home,
No longer needed, no longer wanted,
Too far gone to notice the loss.
Old monkey man looked sad with incomprehension,
His age is done.

I don't know what I'm doing here but this monkey thing needs comment. I just don't have the right one.
"Sad"
is operational but not enough.

Echo, you are right, the sad is not enough, but confused didn't fit either...

if you can think of a better word, that seems to fit, lemme know and i'll use it.

ES - yup times up, but the bastards taking it all with him...

Novel - I'm not trying to be facetious, but do you mean whet? as in sharpening? I hope I haven't done anything to deserve the sharp edge of you tongue :)

Thank you all for visiting :)
