Quite burnt

Waxy nub

One end worked

Twisted and ground

Tight into square hole

T’other, charred,

Broken wicked

A real effort to relight

Dig deep with knife

Prise and

Lift…

.

.

Maybe

One day

Re-light no matter how much burnt wax has to be removed. My take anyway.

Really liked this image. The wick is your inspiration/idea/process well used (burned and diminished) but with a residue/reserve to light up again come the time? You have been a superb travel companion in these 12 months. I will revisit from time to time to see if you have done any wax prising.

Thanks Ish.

I doubt I'll stop altogether, I just need a break. Gonna play some games, and redo the web site, nothing glossy, just nice and simple like me :)

I still intend to be a regular at your place, though you seem to be more sporadic than I...

I have enjoyed our time together, and will enjoy our relationship until we part ways, although that does sound kinda strange considering we know so little of each other...

Anyway, I've got to keep writing as my daughter bought me a couple of replacement note books for when mine was full, so I'd better use them :)

I think I am not reading as deeply into this and then I see from comments that maybe I am. It's great to be back on your page. Appreciate your visit today. I just reorganized my links and found you earlier. I never knew what "prise" meant and I took the time to look it up so you did teach me something today. At first I took this as an alternative look at an amputee's arm or something (yes I watch too many bad horror movies) but I was surprised it was really about wax. I do agree with Pat however, there is always a way to relight something no matter how burnt and broken in gets.

Please keep writing when you can. One of you lot disappearing is too much already (Molly) - another would be unbearable. Contrary to your comment over at mine, there isn't a crap poem here.

On another note, if you're giving some of your time to the noble pursuit of gaming for a while, Lego Star Wars II is pretty good - you can download a free demo from Lucas Arts. I'm not particularly a Star Wars fan (I remember queueing round the block to watch it at the Donny Gaumont back in t'day though), loved Lego.

They say a change is as good as a rest.

Milady is fond of pointing out that a change is better than a rest.

When a change is a rest...

... I don't know.

Good luck with whatever you do.

Maybe you could showcase some more of Adelaide's poems?!

Walking away? I should the mind is revisited and not left blank. I like the twisted way that you write.
