To paper shop, to be
Given opinion in tabloid form -
Man in doorway, cigarette plumes
Wafting off in morning breeze
Crumpled special brew at his feet
Raging harridan in room beyond -
Snapshots of lives
Gone, gone, gone
Visions driven by.

Dawn

That smell
Of something cooked
Cooking
With nostrils flared
I looked about
And found
My soul
Sizzling
On near molten rocks
At my feet…

Patience

Gripped
Face white
Vision tunnelling
Cold sweat
As I sit and
Wait…

Rainbow of Despair

Red seeping from these once flooded gashes
Orange seventies wallpaper I’ve never afforded to change
Yellow stained teeth from slow suicide smoking
Green at those lives I was never born to
Blue of lip as this noose tightens a little further…

Slow rolling hills
Roll away from here
Straight tall tree
With single limb I fear
Bird high high above
My soul will never near
It’s destined elsewhere
Its wails you’ll never hear

As chained and bound
It plummets down
As my body mirrored
On that tree I feared

Winter wood

Exhibitionist trees
Scattered threads

Stuck in mud

Driven through life

Hands thrust skyward
Opening, parting
Finger blossoms
Hurling their pollen
Of white feathers -
Wings snapping briskly
Slapping above below
Above below -
Hurled to hurtle
Rediscovering
Blue-skied
Freedom

Deed

And quietly I slip away
Deed done
Poisoned food amongst others
Russian roulette of dog food cans
A game played at that blind mans house
After all
How can good be perceived
